A gravimetric method to monitor transpiration under water stress conditions in wheat

The water-limited potential yield of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) may be largely dependent on plant transpiration behavior. Research into dynamics is limited due to the difficulty monitoring water use over an extended period time. advent fully automated gravimetric platforms makes this research possible. methods for using equipment study in water-deficit environments are not well established. objective greenhouse was develop a methodology evaluate under terminal stress platform. Using plant–pot system designed limit nonplant loss, proved capable 42-day and detected significant differences between well-watered water-stressed treatments. However, high degree variation system's ability detect genotypes similar watering regimes. Both environmental human error likely contributed observed variation.
